And if a person is suffering from chronic diarrhea, then usually the main focus shifts from dehydration and infection to the diagnosis of non-infectious causes of diarrhea. This includes X-rays of the intestines, Fat malabsorption test, Sugar malabsorption test, Hydrogen breathing test, blood and thyroid test and in some cases biopsy of the small intestine also.
